Allie + Michael's Lake Erie Wedding at the Catawba Island Club

When I first met with Allie + Michael, before they booked me, I left with a huge smile. The two of them had SO much joy, it was amazing. I remember thinking it was so sweet to see Michael equally as excited as Allie was, for their wedding. He was asking just as many questions as Allie and was so involved/invested. Whenever the groom is just as enthusiastic as the bride I know that it’s going to be a fun time. Allie + Michael are those kinds of joyful people whose joy overflows onto everyone around them. During our meeting they both smiled the entire time, as they told me about their story, how Michael proposed, etc.

Meeting for their consult, months before their wedding, was just the same! I loved hearing the excitement they had for the plans that had been made, for their big day. They had put so much thought into how they wanted the day to flow and they knew just what they wanted the day to look/feel like. They told me they were planning to get married on a lake and I grew up going to Apple Valley lake with my family, so this plan had me STOKED. I remember Allie also told me about an ivy wall that was really pretty for photos, but I was not fully prepared for how gorgeous this venue truly was (you’ll see)!!

I’m so glad that Allie + Michael chose me to document their day; it was a true joy! When we finished up for the day they thanked me and said how happy they were that we were a part of their wedding day team. It meant so much hearing that; I always get warm-fuzzies inside when my couple’s make me feel so appreciated, like this! Thank you for being the sweetest, Allie + Michael!!

About Allie + Michael:

Michael and Allie met at Miami University while working together at the campus bookstore. They struck up a friendship during their junior year, and eventually started dating later in the year. Michael and Allie dated long distance after graduation and over the summers and they loved spending weekends together with each other’s families. One of their favorite places to be was Michael's family lake house on Catawba Island. It was another beautiful weekend at the lake, last July, and the two went for a morning walk around the neighborhood. They stopped at a lookout spot along the water, and that's when Michael got down on one knee and asked Allie to begin a lifetime of adventure together. She said YES! After returning to the house, the proposal followed with champagne, brunch, and best of all -- time with both families in their favorite place! Catawba Island is where they chose to get married, adding more special memories to this beautiful place that they love!
