Kelli + Cody's Elegant, Summer Wedding @ Pine View Acres

Kelli + Cody are some of the most genuine people and it was such an honor to be a part of their wedding day. If you’ve followed along for a while, you may have seen their engagement session blog post, I’ll link it here if you want to check it out! They have the sweetest love for each other and it was fun to be a part of their engagement season of life!

Kelli is an elementary teacher and, if you know my career history, I also was a teacher! SO, when we met for their consult, you can probably imagine how detailed we were in thinking about every single aspect of their day! Almost like mapping out a whole day’s lesson plan, but, of course, a SUPER important day (their big day!!) We sat down with her mom and coordinator and hashed it all out! She had a such a great vision for the day and, as a teacher, she sure does knows how to plan! I have such an appreciation for organized brides, like Kelli (and basically all of my brides!). Something else that I loved about Kelli + Cody is that even though they were given the hottest day of the summer, for their wedding day, they didn’t complain at all. We took their photos, as planned, despite the sweat!

About Kelli + Cody:

They attended the same small town high school, but had hardly even said one word to each other! Cody played on the football team with Kelli’s brother and she cheered on, from the sidelines, as part of the cheer squad. Cody was even invited, by one of his friends to go on Kelli’s family-friend trip to Florida, back in 2013. Still, they barely said one word to each other! In the summer of 2017, Kelli and her friend met up with Cody, and other friends from high school, at The Country Fest. After night three of hanging out, they felt a quick connection and definitely wanted to see each other again. They never would have thought that they would have ended up together, but discovered they had the same interests and Christian values. Their friendship grew a lot that summer and turned into a dating relationship!

When they got engaged, Kelli said, “it was absolutely PERFECT and Cody was able to completely surprise me, which is very hard to do”. They were on a family vacation with Cody’s family, in West Palm Beach, Florida and on the second to last night, Cody popped the question on top of a lighthouse! When they got to the top, they started taking pictures... Then, Cody had to 'grab a camera lens' from the bag, but it was actually the ring… he got down on one knee! Kelli didn't even give him a chance to talk, because she was immediately so excited! She hugged him, and cried happy tears!

Kelli’s wedding visions/dreams came true on July 20, 2019! Kelli felt like she was in a fairytale! She wanted an elegant, charming, yet simplistic wedding. The venue at Pine View Acres added that country feel with the fields of grass and evening sunset off in the distance. Kelli was able to add in all of the neutrals of ivory linens, tables of flowing greenery, and glass vases filled with wildflowers. The gold accents in the votives and picture frames gave an elegant feel for their summer wedding. They also used Kelli’s mom’s glass cake stand! Family is important to both of them - so, having all of their family and friends there to celebrate their big day made it the most special!! They loved every moment, despite it being the HOTTEST day of the summer!
