Anna + Ryan’s Backyard Wedding

If there’s anything I’ve learned, as a photographer during COVID, it’s that when things don’t go originally as planned it does not mean that they can’t be just as special. Anna + Ryan were originally scheduled for a Midwest, barn wedding and their plans got rearranged to a back yard wedding at Anna’s parent’s house. I remember when we spoke for her consult feeling so bummed that things couldn’t play for them the way they had pictured. I felt bad that Anna’s mom had to host the wedding at their house and pictured everything being a bit more stressful for her whole family. BUT, it ended up being one of the prettiest and most incredible weddings I’ve been a part of!

Everyone involved chose to make it just as special and, as you’ll see through the photos, it was absolutely breathtaking. Who knew a back yard could look so gorgeous!? Not just that, but everyone involved had the best attitude about everything and they all chose to make it just as fun, if not more fun. How special, too, that they can say they got married where Anna grew up?!

I’ve been so proud of each of my 2020 couples! They have chosen to look past the circumstances, and instead chose joy. They’ve realized that love really isn’t cancelled. Instead of getting upset, they’ve made the most of everything and focused on the things that really matter, their love and commitment to each other. I’m so blessed by each of my couples and it’s been an honor to watch them handle these highs and lows of this wild season! Cheers to Anna + Ryan! I cannot wait to celebrate you two, with more of your friends in family, come February!
